well CRAP!
Darn it I really want to post on this blog and be all clean and happy, but the truth of the matter is I am currently just trying to keep my head above water. I just don't get how there can be so much crap laying around my house. I clean daily and try to make my house look nice but things just come out of the wood work to make it look like a horrible mess. Today for example my children got out, I swear, every toy they own. Why is this necessary?? I think I need to put some toys away and bring them out at a different time. Another problem I have is that my wonderful daughter thinks that every time her brother is anywhere near to a happy state she must ruin the crap out of it. Um what happen to the wonderful little girl I had that loved her brother to no end? I guess him starting to be mobile has ruined her life completely. For example, today he was playing with a paper towel tube, he was all giggly and cute, she walks up to him and tears it out of his hands. Great, thanks so much for the 2 minutes of peace I was experiencing. Lord I pray tomorrow will be a better day, in the mean time check out this great blog that makes me almost pee my pants and soothes the soul, rants from mommyland

ok I am feeling pretty sucky at this
so I have been trying to work on this blog thing and have been having some horrible results, as you can tell. It is just to darn nice outside to be stuck inside doing this. The rest of my time is taken up by small people who think they own the world. So I promise to get myself together and get this blog back on track. There a goal has been made.

Wilted Salad
Here is a very wonderful salad that we have been making, it is super easy and so tasty.
What you need:
4 minced garlic cloves
1/2 to 1 cup of vinegar (red wine, apple cider, or balsamic, We have used all three, but balsamic was used on this salad)
spinach or specialty salad mix (we normally use spinach but had the salad mix on hand)
mushrooms
Salt and pepper to taste
all you have to do it slice the mushrooms, and put them in a bowl with the garlic, salt, pepper and vinigar and let them sit for about an hour to soak up the flavors. Then pour the mixture over the salad, take a spoon and kind of pound and stir the mixture. The pounding is to kind of break down the salad and get the flavors mixed into it. Let this mixture sit for another hour or so and eat. You can eat right away but the salad will not be as flavorful. As a note if it sits in the fridge over night it gets really wilted and looks kind of like cooked spinach but the flavor is amazing the salad just does not look as nice.

Dining Room
While my sister was here on Saturday she watched the children so I could get some cleaning done on the main areas of the house. My dining room is a catch all for everything. It is where my husband currently has our garden starter plans growing because the biggest window is in the dining room. It is where I keep my son's carseat and the diaper bag. It is where everything gets dropped of when we come in the door, coats, hats, etc. It is also where my daughter has her creative center set up, and this can take over the whole table, floor, well house, lol. Anyway, I washed the walls, scrubbed the floor and got rid of stuff that we did not need in this room, the dining room now looks lovely. I hate the fact that my very nice table gets covered by so much junk all the time. I think we need some sort of drop off box for all the stuff that goes on the table and than I can sort and get rid of it to the proper place, something to work on. Anyway here are the after pictures as I never did take any before ones.

our garden
We have been doing a garden here at our house for the last 9 years. We have lived here for 10, we bought the house in July, so no garden that year. However, that year we had a garden at my parents house, which we mostly got pickles out of. The garden is mostly my husbands thing, he loves doing all things garden which is wonderful. We have gotten a lot of great things from our garden. Today I picked a large amount of Asparagus from our patch we started 8 years ago from seed (pictures to follow). We also have some starter plants started in the dining room which is serving as a green house at the moment. In those pots we have 8 Tomato plants, 2 cabbage plants (our 1st time trying), and 2 eggplants. We also have several green pepper plants which you will see in a little 12 spot green house. My husband also has garlic planted in garden which is starting to show some growth. He planted it last October. The garlic is one of our favorite things, we still have some left over from our crop from last year. It is so wonderful to have things that you have grown and canned to eat, they are so delicious much better than store bought. The tomatoes are the best from the garden, you will never have another store bought tomato after having one you have grown yourself, so flavorful. I almost forgot today my Dad brought over a small trailer of manure to help with the gardens, it is cow manure with straw mixed in from the bedding.
