terrible blogger!

I so want to do this I want to be able to write a post every 3 days or so but darn it I am just horrible at this.  So a quick up date is that I am again decluttering and cleaning out my house.  I just took everything out of my daughters room and put it in the garage.  I am not sorting and getting putting into 3 boxes the stuff I took out.   One box for stuff to keep, one for stuff to sell, and one for trash.  I need to become minimalistic, as I am so sick of cleaning up after the kids who have too much stuff to even play with or care about.  My goal is to make life simple of me and to make life better for the kids.  So here I go again.

ok I suck at this!

seriously I totally suck at blogging.  But I have found tons of cool blogs and I can't stop pinning.  If you have no idea what pinterest is Please look it up it is the coolest thing in the world, lol.  Anywho, I am currently decluttering my basement/playroom and making it into a playroom/classroom for homeschooling my two littles!!  I am so excited.  I have tons of trash I am throwing out, which frankly I don't understand why I kept some of the things I did, like little pieces of fleece that for some reason I thought I would be able to make something out of, um NO!!  I have also gotten tons to send to goodwill but that includes my children's rooms which I totally have been trying to declutter again.  I have decided that all of the toys need to be in the playroom and not all over my house, I am so sick of cleaning up toy messes everywhere.  I have decided at this point to follow something I read (which darn it cannot remember the blog) which said to put everything but big stuff in a container and put up, then the children are only allowed 2 of the container items at a time so I am in the middle of that, but at the moment my house looks like hoarders,  only not all the gross stuff!   Also my garage looks like it has been taken over by junk, I am hoping to do a goodwill run asap!

cleaning schedule

ok forever I have been trying to figure out my cleaning schedule and I think I was putting too much work into it.  my first thoughts were always.  top floor Mondays, middle floor Tuesdays, Living Room Wednesdays, basement Thursdays.  The problem with this schedule is that is was so over whelming.  Last week I stumbled on this schedule by the Time Warp Wife, which by the way is an awesome blog to look around.  I have followed the schedule thus far this week and it has been wonderful, my house is not perfect but it is not OMG someone is here HIDE, HIDE either so I am so excited.  I hope to follow it for many weeks.

The power of the sun and hydrogen peroxide.

I know I have not posted in a long time but I just have to tell everyone I know (and don't know) the power of the sun and hydrogen peroxide. So 3 days ago I was doing laundry and got the the very bottom of the hamper and found my daughters yellow jacket.  It is a great windbreaker, yellow with small flowers on the pocket, super cute.  I knew she had gotten something on it when we were at my parents house (I think it was butter from corn on the cob) but that was just on the sleeves.  When I opened it up the front was covered in black mold, I was horrified.  I decided to spray it down with Resolve, put some Era, and some Clorox 2 (which is now called Stain Fighter and Color Booster, not Color safe bleach, in case anyone was wondering).  I was hopeful but not really to excited.  The results where that the rest of the coat came out AWESOME, no buttery stain, however the mold was still there.  I was so upset I love this coat.  So to the internet I went, there were lots of people who said it would not come out.  But I found one hopeful message that said to try hydrogen peroxide and leave it in the sun.  So Day 2 I put it in the sun with hydrogen peroxide, this does something but not all of the mold is gone.  My husband suggested I put a white wash cloth over the mold stain and poor the peroxide on it and leave overnight.  So I do this, some change seems to have happened but it is hard to tell.  The next day I take it out in the sun and poor the peroxide on it, about an hour later lots of change so I do this every 2 hours all day long.  Tonight at 8 pm I go out and look and you can hardly see where the mold was on the jacket I am so happy.  I think if I do one more day of the peroxide and sun it will be gone but it is totally wearable right now.  Two areas are all but gone, one on the hood and one on the pocket.  I will have to take an after pic, I am so mad I always kick my self for not taking a before pic.  Anyway, my MIL swears by peroxide for stains and it is a wonder stain remover, but I had no idea and I am more than pleased.

the search for a new home

So 9 years ago my Husband and I purchased the house we live in now (almost to the day it was July 19, 2002).  We wanted to get a house that we could live in for the rest of our lives.  At the time this house was the best house we looked at and was in our price range.  We had tons of room and about half an acre of land it seemed perfect.  Fast forward  9 years and we now have 2 children and all the "junk" that comes along with them.  Seriously how do these little people take up so much space?  Also in this time period my husband has found a love for gardening and wants a big garden and a bunch of land to possible do cow or sheep or something.  So in February of 2010 after we had just found out we were pregnant with #2 we started looking for a new house with some land.  We found a small house with 16 acres that was a short sale, my husband was in love I was ok with it.  The house was no bigger than what we had and was smaller in some spaces than I would like.  We did make an offer but the house was going to foreclosure and the owners sold off all the stuff that helped make the house worth buying and their realtor would not even show them the offer.  So we moved on.  We have looked at so many houses it is not funny and it always seems that there is either a great piece of property and a crappy house or a great house and crappy property.  Several weeks ago we looked at an awesome house with not awesome but great property, today we looked at a house that has both a great house and awesome property and we are going to look at one more house on Monday and weight our options.  I pray that one of these three houses is going to be our new house.  I am so tired of searching and searching.

our garden II

Gosh I was just reading over the blog and I really need to let you all see some new pictures of our gardens.  The gardens look so different and we have started to get tons of lettuce, zucchini and summer squash.  We had a horrible storm a week ago that knocked out power and damaged some of our plants but my husband has worked really hard to get things back on order.  The power issue sucked because we did not have power for over 3 days, which was actually good since the electric company said it would be 5 days before we got it back and that just is not a good thing to a mommy with 2 children.  Thank God my parents and my sister had just purchased a generator.  Which was a God send!!
